Walmart Joins The Crowd-sourced Mattress-In-a Box Industry

Over the past three years, there have been many new mattress-in a-box companies. All of them are trying to capitalize on the new model that is taking over the bedding market.
As customers discover an easier way to buy a mattress, many are seeing healthy sales. Walmart is the latest player.
They announced last month the launch of Allswell, an exclusive online mattress brand that will sell mattresses as well as other bedding.
Allswell is more focused on design than other brands that place a lot of emphasis on customer convenience and hassle-free shopping.
You can find a variety of bedding options in different colors and textures, with names such asNew America?Modern GlamAndGlobally Inspired.
They still offer all the comforts we have come to expect of online mattress companies.
You won’t find their products in Walmarts stores or on its website.
The Mattress
Allswell offers a 30-cm mattress in two comfort levels. The Softer One is a firmer option, while The Firmer One is softer. The Softer One has a medium firmness, while the Firmer One is well-rounded and firmer.
They are made differently. The medium firm mattress has five layers of memory foam. This provides a balanced level of soft comfort and firm support. The firmer version has three layers of memory foam with pocketed coils supporting it.
To give the mattress a plush feeling, each mattress comes with an integrated topper. The covers are made of a soft, cool fabric.
These are some other details about the mattress.
- Ground shipping is available to all US states, including Alaska and Hawaii. The shipping time is between 2-7 days.
- Customers in the continental US can order White Glove Delivery for an additional fee
- The mattress comes in a small box. It can take up to 48 hours to fully decompress, but you can still sleep on it immediately.
- Customers receive a free 100-day trial. All returns are accepted. If you waive your right to return, you get old mattresses removed for free.
- Every mattress comes with a 10-year warranty that starts on the date of purchase.
- Allswell offers financing through Affirm if you prefer to spread your payments.
Pricing
The Allswell mattress is roughly the same price as other online mattresses brands like Leesa and Casper.
Both comfort options come in the same price range. There are only four sizes. For the twin size, the full size, and the Supreme Queen (King) size, there are only four sizes.
You can also add White Glove delivery to you order. Financing is also available.
Will They Succeed?
Allswell isn’t very special so they won’t have much success in a highly competitive market. They have the brand power and resources of Walmart to help them compete with well-known brands.
It is becoming more evident that the online mattress market is unstoppable. People are less inclined to shop in stores. They are attracted to the low prices, easy delivery, and generous trial periods that allow them to try out online mattresses.
Walmart is not the only company that will try to pack mattresses in boxes and send them to customers.
Customers have more options and are able to select from a wider range of prices. There are many brands to choose from, which can be confusing.
