PRERIDE THE SEA OTTER RIGHT NOW!

MotionBased and Sea Otter Classic have teamed up for the second consecutive year to provide detailed course analysis and mapping. It’s great news that the classic Sea Otter Classic Cross-Country circuit has been redesigned for 2006. You will still enjoy the classic Sea Otter Cross-Country circuit, with its short climbs and singletrack that is filled with rocks and other obstacles, as well as tight sections in trees. You can also view new open fields in a clockwise orientation this year.

Combining the Garmin Edge and MotionBased, you can race the Sea Otter from your Computrainer. Garmin Edge GPS-enabled personal training system improves the user’s environment by adding features beyond standard metrics such as heart rate, pace, distance, and time. Auto Lap, Auto Pause and Virtual Partner allow users to measure, calculate and analyze lap time. Virtual Partner allows users to compete against each other by visually displaying their goal pace/speed in comparison to their current pace/speed. You can program alerts to notify you when to accelerate, slow down, or stop. Garmins Training Center software allows users to create and schedule advanced workouts, upload them to their device, and run and analyze the data afterwards. The Edge 205 can be used as a standalone unit. The Edge 305 includes a heart rate sensor, cadence sensor or both.

Users can upload their GPS data points from their Edge or Forerunner to their motionbased.com account. Users can also use MotionBased’s algorithms to calculate speed, distance, time and elevation metrics. They can also pin their data onto any number of maps, including Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Maps and topo maps. They can then print, email, and share their maps with friends, training buddies, or with the TrailNetwork, which is a growing online community at motionbased.com.

Motionbased.com allows you to analyze detailed metrics about Sea Otters MTB XC Course. Next, use your local topography for a layout or workout that resembles the Sea Otter course. Get an Edge GPS-enabled personal trainer system and get ready to race Geoff Kabush, the defending Sea Otter Champ. Geoff will need to get wet again this year, so you won’t have to.

But we need motion-mudded!
MotionBased could only provide computerized samples from the Sea Otter’s dirt consistency, and the locations of the mud or water holes. Today’s thunderstorm hit Monterey, and tomorrow is expected to bring showers. It is expected to be cloudy on Thursday with a few showers Friday and partly cloudy again Saturday. Sunday will see showers.
